Patient Testimonials

“Mark Neese at True North Counseling is an excellent therapist and I highly recommend him.  He was able to make a connection with my son who struggles with ADHD, ODD, and RAD.  It is difficult for him to open up to adults but Mark was able to bond with him and my son made great progress.  He actually looked forward to seeing Mark, which was a first for any therapist!  Mark always kept me in the loop and I felt we were all part of the same team.  I would definitely recommend True North Counseling!”

“Mark Neese has been our behavioral therapist and coach, for my now 15-year-old son, for over two years. He has taken my out of control, fetal alcohol syndrome, crack baby – a bipolar child with all of the implications and special needs that come with those diagnoses – and helped him learn to make significant progress controlling impulsive behavioral outbursts, take responsibility for his actions, see his positive qualities, and develop his self-esteem and confidence.

Mr. Neese’s firm guidance, encouragement, conversation, an array of activities; from chess to lunch for my starving teenager, to physical activities, has moved my son in the direction of learning to trust and to maturing to acting his age….where it is possible to have a “regular” family life which isn’t always focused on negative behavior and outbursts and can be spent enjoying life and daily routine. Mr. Neese has been involved multiple times a week and hours at a time, being flexible with meeting times and places, and always making my son and myself feel as though we are his first concern.

Mr. Neese has scheduled regular Follow up and pre-session conferences with myself to discuss my son’s needs and progress and always listened carefully to my concerns and offered positive suggestions for changing my parenting strategies as well as different viewpoints to help guide and encourage reasonable expectations of my son moving forward.
I would highly recommend Mark Neese with his professional attitude, experience, and depth of knowledge.”

“I have a son with Autism. He is now 21-years old. Mark has been working with him for the past 7 years. One of the most important things that Mark help me do was to help get him out of my bed. He would get up in the middle of the night and get into bed with me. I tried everything. He would become very aggressive when I attempted to get him out. Over the course of 3-4 years, Mark guided me and my son and we were successful in helping him sleep the whole night by himself. If you have a child with Autism, you know how difficult it can be to change these routines.

Mark has changed our family life!!!!”

“Mark has been working with my 10 -year old son, with Cerebral Palsy for several years. He has offered our family very specific skills training, therapy and support. My son loves Mark, and Mark offers him the opportunity and freedom to work through life’s daily obstacles, challenging behaviors, or just vent about his brothers and sister. Mark is more than a Therapist or Behavior analyst, he’s an important part of our family support.”
